Back to Shippensburg, PA in 1864

It’s been a busy few months. December I took a break from working on my next book series to celebrate the holidays. Unfortunately both my husband and I ended up sick towards the end of the month – me over Christmas, and my husband over New Years.

January was spent working on the final edits for Convincing Lou, which will likely be out sometime later this fall. This is the last book in my Burrton Springs Brides Series. As soon as it was turned in, I focused on writing three little stories for three of my six grandchildren for their birthdays in January and February. Later in the year, I plan to write three more stories for the final three grandchildren when they have their birthdays in May, August, and November. But for now, I can start to focus on writing a new adult series.

This next series, currently titled Come Home Series, will be set in Shippensburg, PA. The first book, Abigail’s Pursuit takes place in 1864. I’ve never written anything during the Civil War up until now, which has me doing additional research. I have been blessed to have a local historian working with me. She provided two daily journals from 1864 which have a wealth of information in them – the weather conditions, names of local businesses, when rebels were in the area, etc.

I’d appreciate prayer as I work to fine tune a rough plot and come up with obstacles for my characters to overcome. My current obstacle is dealing with a flare up of back and hip pain, which isn’t very conducive for sitting long periods of time to write a novel. 🙂

What are you working on right now? How can I be praying for you?
